Tomball ISD has released clarifying elementary school boundary maps for upcoming school years in order to “alleviate confusion” about rezoning plans for district schools located in The Woodlands, according to a Feb. 28 email from district representatives.
Current situation

New attendance boundaries will go into effect in August for most TISD elementary schools. However, no boundary changes will occur for elementary schools in "The Woodlands zone" in the 2024-25 school year, according to TISD’s email.

According to the updated maps, the elementary schools that will retain their current boundaries until the 2026-27 school year are:
  • Creekside Forest Elementary
  • Creekview Elementary
  • Timber Creek Elementary

Diving in deeper

Altered intermediate and junior high boundaries will take effect for most schools in the 2025-26 school year, according to TISD. However, no attendance boundaries will change for schools in The Woodlands until the 2026-27 school year, according to a March 4 email from TISD representatives.

High school boundaries will change for the 2026-27 school year, and grades at specific schools will be reconfigured to account for the addition of a fifth-grade facility at Creekside Park Junior High School.

In case you missed it

Boundary changes will be implemented in three phases, which also include grade configurations for the 2026-27 school year for elementary, intermediate and junior high levels, TISD officials said.

The boundary redesign process accounted for student population growth and three new schools opening at the district’s Juergen Road complex—funded by TISD’s $494.46 million 2021 bond—in upcoming school years, as previously reported by Community Impact. The approved maps incorporate community feedback and are a revised version of maps presented to the TISD community in November, district leaders said.

The context

On Oct. 10, TISD administrators announced the attendance boundary redesign process, and new attendance boundary changes were approved by the district’s board of trustees Jan. 9.
