In an Oct. 29 response to a letter from a Creekside Park resident asking when more trees will be planted to compensate for clear-cutting, The Woodlands Development Company said the delay is the result of H-E-B’s consent.
In April,
Community Impact Newspaper reported the Development Company had responded to a Creekside Park petition launched by resident Matthew Burton, who is running for The Woodlands Township Board, Position 6, in the Nov. 3 election. More than 2,000 residents signed the petition. In response, the Development Company offered to plant more trees than is exacted in The Woodlands Township landscape standards.
In the response to the Oct. 20 letter from the resident, Robert Heineman, vice president of planning for the Development Company, confirmed that the Development Company remains firm in its commitment to plant loblolly pines in addition to the trees already planted around the Creekside Park H-E-B perimeter and other existing perimeters in the Village Center. He said the delay in planting the additional trees is because of communications with H-E-B.
“We need to get H-E-B’s consent to implement the additional plantings around their perimeter,” he said. “We continue to work with H-E-B to obtain their approval of these additional plantings.”
