Local franchisees Ami and Andy Kratt, and Darrin and Mandy Scharffenorth opened D1 Training, offering athletic-based training in The Woodlands area. The company employs a sports-science backed training regimen led by certified trainers, according to the release.

What they offer

D1 Training offers a total of four age-based programs which include three categories for children ages 7-18 as well as adults. The programs are based on the tenets of dynamic warm-up, performance, strength program, core and conditioning, and cool down, according to the news release.

About the owners

Andy Kratt has worked in the oil and gas industry and was a Division 1 football player, and Ami Kratt has worked in physical therapy for more than 20 years, according to the news release. Darin and Mandy Scharffenorth moved from South Africa to The Woodlands in 2020, where he worked in tech infrastructure and she was a teacher and is now president of The Woodlands Rugby Club, according to the release.
