The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce announced Aaron Cox will assume the role of president and CEO on Sept. 16.

The overview

Brian Albert, the 2024 chair of the board for the chamber, has been serving as interim CEO since former President and CEO J.J. Hollie resigned on April 9. Hollie joined the chamber as CEO in 2015.

According to a news release from the chamber, Cox has more than 20 years of related experience, including more than 15 years with state chambers in Texas and Kentucky as well as their statewide chamber professionals associations.

He has worked in areas such as business advocacy and public policy at the state and federal levels as well as in areas of workforce and economic development, transportation and other human services, according to the news release.




"Cox is a strategic leader with a proven track record of building strong relationships and successfully growing member-driven organizations," according to the news release. "He passionately believes that a strong Chamber of Commerce that is serving, supporting, connecting, innovating and advocating on behalf of its members and the community is vital to continue growing the thriving business community in The Woodlands in support of the local economy."
