New road, trail to connect Memorial Park, Brazos River Park in Sugar Land

The city of Sugar Land is constructing a milelong road and trail connecting Brazos River Park and Sugar Land Memorial Park.

The Texas Department of Transportation will close northbound lanes of Hwy. 6 each night from March 14-23 due to ongoing construction on the road, according to a city of Sugar Land news release.

Tomball City Manager Rob Hauck died March 13 in a single-vehicle crash in Waller County, according to an obituary release from the Tomball Police Department.


The Woodlands

Flashing lights installed to reduce traffic backup at several locations in The Woodlands

Flashing yellow arrows are being installed at several locations to update the Northstar Network in The Woodlands Town Center, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3 officials. The signals have been installed at Lake Robbins and Six Pines drives and at Six Pines and Market Street. Additional lights may be installed in late spring and early summer, Precinct 3 officials said.

Updates: Three road projects to watch in The Woodlands area: FM 2978, Gosling Road and Hwy. 242 overpass


The main portion of the FM 2978 widening project still under construction is from FM 1488 to Dry Creek, and a project to widen Gosling Road may go out to bid as soon as late March, transportation officials said.
