Sweetwater Boulevard Phase 2
Project: The project’s second phase will reconstruct select concrete pavement panels between Hwy. 59 and Palm Royale Boulevard.
Update: At an Aug. 4 meeting, Sugar Land City Council approved a design contract with Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering LLC.
Timeline: September 2026-September 2027 (design)
Cost: $677,329 (design)
Funding source: Fort Bend County (design)
Mast arm addition
Project: Missouri City will replace the light at FM 2234 and Buffalo Run/Scanlin Road from a span wire to a mast arm.
Update: At an Aug. 17 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a Local On-System project agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation.
Timeline: TBD
Cost: $953,485
Funding source: Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County
Proposed Hwy. 36A project
Project: The proposed roadway aims to provide congestion relief and an alternative route for large trucks to travel from Port Freeport to reach major highways.
Update: The Texas Department of Transportation collected feedback in August on three proposed routes for the southern portion of the project.
