Drainage improvements for FM 518 at Wesley Drive and FM 518 and Country Lane intersection improvements are some of the ongoing projects in League City.
Ongoing projects
Package 8 asphalt reconstruction
Project: Package 8 is set to tentatively include asphalt rehabilitations for Bern Street, Boden Street, Austin Street with possible add-on alternates on Seventh Street and Landrum.
Update: The project is currently under construction with slated completion at the end of 2026, weather permitting, city officials said.
Drainage improvements for FM 518 at Wesley Drive
Project: This is a drainage improvements project, consisting of installation of large pipes, storm boxes and inlets along and across FM 518 and Wesley Drive to improve drainage at the intersection area, officials said.
Update: The project is currently under construction. While the project is slated to wrap in November, weather or unforeseen utility conflicts may impact the schedule, city officials said.
FM 518 at Country Lane intersection improvements
Project: This is a full intersection rebuild at FM 518 and Country Lane, including signal upgrades, mast arm installation and safety enhancements, officials said.
Update: The project is currently under construction with electrical work being completed.
Lawrence Road and Village Way traffic signal
Project: The project scope includes a design and rebuild of the traffic signal at the Lawrence Road and Village Way intersection, city officials said.
Update: The installation of the left-turn lane has been completed, along with sidewalks, underground conduit and cables, ground boxes and traffic signal pole foundations. Traffic signal poles are slated to be delivered in November, and pavement striping will be placed in late 2026.
Upcoming project
Hobbs Road extension to FM 517
Project: About 1,880 feet of roadway will be constructed, building two southbound lanes now and the northbound lanes later, officials said.
Update: Construction plans are in the final stages of completion, officials said. Construction is slated to start in early 2027.
