- Developers to start Imperial Market construction After nearly 14 years of planning, Imperial Market developers are gearing up to start construction March 1 transforming the historic old sugar refinery site in Sugar Land.
- Fort Bend ISD 2018 bond Using studies and assessments of the district’s facilities, building usage and population demographics, staffers will identify, prioritize and plan the necessary projects to be included in the bond program, district officials said.
- Brazos River erosion study The erosion study will take approximately four months to complete, and the city is coordinating with Fort Bend County, Steubing said. Additional details and information on the study’s findings are expected to be announced in late January, he said.
- Fort Bend ISD deficit plan As FBISD officials engage with the community and meet with stakeholder groups, they will continue discussions regarding potential solutions and present these ideas to residents for input and feedback starting in January.
- Veterans Memorial project Missouri City officials are working with nonprofit Missouri City Parks Foundation to construct a memorial to honor the nation’s veterans.
- Sugar Land Land Use Plan During a Dec. 5 City Council meeting, Mayor Joe Zimmerman recommended the plan be sent back to the planning and zoning commission and the Land Use Advisory Committee to define the plan's 12 percent multifamily housing cap and how that will blend with the city’s business community.
- Texas Parkway developments Missouri City adopted an updated comprehensive plan in June, and the new Houston Community College campus opened next to the City Hall complex.
