Fort Bend County is projecting the winners of positions 1, 4 and 5 to be incumbents Jason Burdine, Kristin Tassin and KP George, respectively, with Burdine receiving 61.90 percent of votes cast, Tassin receiving 49.35 percent of votes cast and George receiving 63.72 percent of votes cast.
"I'm humbled to see people giving me a vote of confidence," George said.
George named student growth as one of the biggest issues the board of trustees will face in the near future. Meanwhile, Burdine listed school finance, the district’s changing demographics and the state’s A-F school grading system as issues the board needs to address.
All results are unofficial until canvassed.

According to unofficial early voting results, incumbent Jason Burdine leads challenger Angelo DeCamps 1,786 to 1,080 for the Position 1 seat, while incumbent Kristin Tassin leads challengers Rodrigo Carreon and Shirley Rose-Gilliam for the Position 4 seat. Tassin has 1,514 votes to Rose-Gilliam’s 1,158 and Carreon’s 250.
For Position 5, incumbent KP George leads challenger Lorena Dueñas with 1,851 votes to 1,017. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
7 candidates vie for 3 seats on Fort Bend ISD board

Incumbent Jason Burdine and L. Angelo DeCamps are the two candidates vying for Position 1 on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees.

Jason Burdine is a financial advisor, and for the past ten years has volunteered at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He also has mentored at-risk youths through a program known as Helping Students To Succeed.
Angelo DeCamps is a commercial banker and a 30-year resident of Fort Bend County.
Incumbent Kristin Tassin, Rodrigo Carreon and Shirley Rose-Gilliam are the three candidates vying for Position 4 on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees.

Tassin is an intellectual property and special education attorney, and has had her own law firm for 21 years. She began volunteering in Fort Bend ISD in 2006 and has served in various roles and capacities including room parent, PTO president and as member of the FBISD Parent Advisory Council, among others.
Rose-Gilliam is principal of Wheatley High School in Houston ISD. She said that for 25 years she serviced Fort Bend ISD, where she spent 10 years as a high school teacher and another 15 years as a campus administrator.
Carreon did not respond to requests for his background information.
Incumbent KP George and Lorena Dueñas are the two candidates vying for Position 5 on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees.
Incumbent KP George is a financial planner who owns and manages an independent financial planning practice with six other advisors.
Dueñas owns an education consulting company. Before launching her business, she served as a teacher and then an administrator in Houston ISD.
