Spring ISD will offer all students free breakfast and lunch every school day for the upcoming school year, district officials announced in an Aug. 3 news release.

Officials noted the district is able to offer free meals due to recent guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture allowing schools to offer meals to all students at no charge for the 2021-22 school year.

All students enrolled in pre-K through third grade at the School for International Studies at Bammel Elementary School will also be offered free meals for the 2021-22 school year. However, because this is a new school, district officials noted students enrolled at this campus are encouraged to submit a free and reduced meal application.

The SISD Child Nutrition Department will process applications to ensure student eligibility carries over for the first 30 days of the 2022-23 school year. The online free and reduced meal application can be completed at www.schoolcafe.com.

The free and reduced meal application is not necessary for students attending other SISD schools, officials said.
