Work on Blackhawk Boulevard is continuing with construction on the section of the road between Friendswood Link Road and Centennial Lane. Work is expected to finish on the final phase of the bond-funded project this spring. The project began in June 2018 and was funded by the 2013 Friendswood bond.

The bond-funded portion of the road cost $4.58 million.

The next phase of the project will be from Edenvale Street to East Edgewood Avenue. However, that portion is not funded and has no set start date.
