An excess of land north of Meridiana Parkway will be sold after Alvin ISD’s board of trustees approved the sale at its Dec. 10 meeting.

The overview

The sold land is about 0.1767 acres, and was a portion of Jackie Caffey Junior High School, according to district agenda documents.

The land was unusable for a school site and selling it doesn’t affect the district’s ability to use or improve a school site in the area, according to a Nov. 18 memo included in the district’s agenda documents.

The district received one qualified offer for the land, resulting in the offer for about $60,880, district documents note. The portion of land was sold to PDC 2 Meridiana LLC, a Texas Domestic Limited-Liability Company.
