Students at Friendswood High School launched a student-run store in an effort to support families in need within the community.

The gist

Called “The Stable,” the store sells merchandise online and is managed by business and graphic design students, said Dayna Owen, executive director of communications for Friendswood ISD.

The store is a fundraiser run in partnership with the Bay Area Alliance-FISD Cares, Owen said, with the merchandise having different graphics, much of which are tied to the theme of the school’s mascot.

The Bay Area Alliance-FISD Cares is a partnership started in 2019 that offers a variety of programs to help families and students within the district, according to the organization’s website.

The fundraiser will run through Nov. 15, which is when the store closes, Owen said.
