Friends of the Bellaire Library Fall Book Sale
At the Bellaire Fire Station, patrons can drop by the semi-annual book sale and browse used books for adults and children, puzzles and more. All proceeds benefit the Bellaire City Library’s summer reading program and other initiatives. Hardback books are $2 and paperbacks are $1. Lightly used book donations will also be accepted during the event.
Arts of Korea Gallery Celebration
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and Han Narea will showcase traditional Korean dance performances by Seoul-based group Yeonhui Connect IEUL, in addition to live music. The genre of dance, known as ‘yeonhui,’ blends elements of music, acrobatics and theatre. Patrons may enjoy a tour of the gallery during intermission.
Ezra Charles Jazz Trio at Ovations
A live, conversational show featuring the Ezra Charles Jazz Trio, with Ezra Charles, Earnest Potts on tenor sax and Jake Helpinstill on percussion. Throughout the evening concert, Charles will elaborate on the inspiration and artistry behind his song repertoire.
Panto U.S.A. Presents ‘Cinderella’
Miller Outdoor Theatre and The Panto Company U.S.A. invite audiences to attend their production of “Cinderella.” The timeless fairytale follows Cinderella, her trip to the ball and the search that ensues for a maiden who lost her glass slipper. Seating is first-come, first-served.
Park to Port Bike Ride
A 20-mile round-trip bike ride guiding cyclists from Hermann Park’s Bayou Parkland to Mason Park near the Port of Houston. Afterward, cyclists can enjoy a post-ride party under Bill Coats Bridge. This event is open to riders of all levels. Registration is required online.
‘When We See You Again’ with Rachel Goldberg-Polin & Jon Polin
Kicking off opening night of the Ann and Stephen Kaufman Jewish Book & Arts Festival, activist Rachel Goldberg-Polin will discuss her new book “When We See You Again” alongside her husband, Jon Polin. The book shares accounts of love, loss and faith and tells the story of their son, Hersh.
