Pearland ISD parents wanting to enroll their students in full-time prekindergarten and kindergarten classes will have the chance when the early enrollment process begins March 28, according to a district news release.

To qualify for kindergarten early enrollment, students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 and live in a PISD school zone, according to the district.

For students to qualify for full-day prekindergarten, which is offered at all PISD elementary campuses, students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 and live in a PISD school zone, according to the release.

Additionally, to qualify for full-day prekindergarten, students need to have limited English proficiency, or be unable to speak and comprehend the English language—both of which are determined based on results of language testing; or they must be educationally disadvantaged, qualifying for assistance programs, such as the National School Lunch Program.

A full list of criteria that could qualify a student for full-day prekindergarten is available on the district's website.
