Crystal Carbone and incumbent Sean Murphy were elected as Pearland ISD school board trustees on Saturday.

Carbone received 70.98 percent of the vote, and opposed Al Lloyd for Position 3.

"After receiving overwhelming support from across the district, now is the time for building relationships and collaborating with fellow board members, focusing on teacher, student and family needs in the place of partisan politics, and, above all, modeling the response that we intend for our staff and student body to emulate in times of struggle and disagreement," Carbone said.

Murphy received 63.77 percent of the vote, and opposed Daniel Hernandez for Position 4.

"Thanks to the people of Pearland for another opportunity to serve this great school district. I am looking forward to serving with those that support all students," Murphy said.

PISD will hold a board workshop on May 10 at 4 p.m. The next PISD school board meeting is May 22.
