Food and drink festivals abound throughout the summer season in Houston and surrounding cities. Check out one of these 10 food-focused events happening in May and June that highlight the culinary diversity of the Greater Houston area. This list is not comprehensive.

Texas Crab Festival

The 39th annual festival takes place over three days at Festival Park in Crystal Beach, promising an assortment of local seafood specialties, including crab gumbo, barbecue crabs, crab poppers and stuffed crab. Attendees can also enjoy live crab races, music, a 5K run, wiener dog races, arts and crafts booths, and other contests and games.

OMG Food Fest

Located at Midtown Park, this hip-hop and food festival will feature boudin, tacos, turkey legs, barbecue and live DJs.

Bazaar Food and Wine Festival

Celebrating Houston’s diverse culture and cuisine, this inaugural event will highlight the melting pot of Latin American, Indian and Pakistani, Asian, African, Middle Eastern, European, and Texan food. The event will transport attendees to six unique neighborhood destinations with immersive activities as well as live entertainment at Sugar Land Town Square.

Sazon Latin Food Festival


This food festival gives representation to Latin food vendors with flavors from the Caribbean and Central and South America. This will take place at Karbach Brewing Co. and feature authentic street food, gourmet dishes and Latin music.Bacon Festival

The founders of the In a Pickle and Hops and Hot Sauce festivals have collaborated on the first-ever festival centered around bacon. Hosted at the Humble Civic Center, the event will feature over 100 food vendors selling bacon snacks and treats as well as eating contests, local shopping, games and giveaways.

Houston Margarita Festival

This boozy event is presented by Patron Tequila and features more than 10 different margarita samples for attendees to vote on the best marg in Houston. Hosted at Memorial Trail Ice House in Houston, it will also feature a live DJ, street tacos and food trucks, a beer garden, market vendors, and a trip giveaway to Mexico.

Everybody's Favorite BBQ & Hot Sauce Festival

This three-day event at downtown Houston’s Discovery Green park will highlight barbecue vendors from around the country. The festival also features live outdoor music with artists performing rock, R&B, jazz, pop and country. Proceeds support nonprofit Guardian Kare Residential Suites, which provides transitional housing for homeless veterans.The Bite of Houston

This family-friendly food festival held in the lot of former restaurant Barney's Bar and Grill will showcase Texas cuisine, from soul food to tacos, to burgers and seafood and even vegan options. Aiming to promote community, the event will also feature a vendor marketplace with local businesses.Baytown Pizza Festival

Pizza lovers unite at this cheesy festival with food venders from the northeast Houston area at the Baytown Fairgrounds. It features a pizza eating contest, live music and shows, beer and wine, games and activities, and a kids fun zone.

Jollof Festival

Jollof rice is a one-pot dish native to many countries in West Africa, which many believe was the precursor to the Cajun dish jambalaya. This festival, held at Toros HTX Coffee, will highlight different versions of jollof rice from countries such as Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia. Attendees will be able to vote on the winner of these jollof wars after blind-tasting several dishes.Note: The Bazaar Food and Wine Festival entry has been updated to correct an error in the news release.
