City & county government
- The Pearland City Council meets Monday with a number of big agenda items, including an ordinance to overturn the annexations of areas A, C and L. There also will be a public hearing on proposed "impact fees" charged to developers for water and sewer infrastructure, with a vote on the fees possible later in the agenda. Council meetings have resumed at City Hall at 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland.
- A Galveston County Hurricane Harvey Town Hall will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Walter Hall Park, 807 SH 3 N, League City. The town hall will include presentations on property tax appraisals and on federal tax relief for those who had storm and flood damage. County residents and non-residents may attend.
- The Brazoria County Commissioners Court will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at 111 E. Locust Street, Ste. 100A, Angleton. The agenda includes a resolution asking the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to re-evaluate the environmental impact of plans for the Brazos River that could affect the San Bernard River watershed.
