Lake Houston-area residents can pick up food donations in several Humble distribution locations this week.

The Houston Food Bank, in partnership with nonprofit Cy-Hope, is hosting another food distribution event for the Humble community June 10, according to a news release from Cy-Hope. Families can get a week's worth of food, including dry goods, produce, meat, and a juice or milk product.

Houston Food Bank's Mega Food Distribution event takes place from 2-7 p.m. at Bush IAH EcoPark lot at 16152 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Houston.

The Eastex Fire Department will also offer bags of rice from four stations in its service area June 11. Riviana Foods donated 6,000 bags of rice to the department May 29, according to a June 9 Facebook post from the department.

Heather Schwalbach, facilities manager for Eastex Fire Department, said families can receive up to six bags of rice from four Humble-area stations between 1-5 p.m. on June 11. Rice can be picked up from Station No. 16 at 14415 Old Humble Road, Station No. 26 at 8523 E. North Belt Drive, Station No. 36 at 15602 Woodland Hills Drive and Station No. 46 at 6930 Cypresswood Point Ave.

Any remaining rice after the drive June 11 will be donated to local organizations, Schwalbach said.
