From Thai cuisine to Mexican-inspired coffee and pastries, check out six dining updates across the Greater Houston area, as reported by Community Impact.
Thai Thai Restaurant has opened its doors in Katy, owners confirmed.
The fully halal eatery offers pad thai, thai green curry salmon pasta and crab fried rice as well as various salads, appetizers and curries, according to its website.
Mexican-inspired cafe Aleyotl Coffee & Bakery began its extended soft opening Sept. 11, Co-owner and barista Yanitzi Duarte confirmed.
"Our concept is inspired by our roots in Michoacán and Mexico City," Duarte said. "The name 'Aleyotl' combines the inspiration of the alebrije with 'yollotl,' the Nahuatl word for heart, representing 'the heart of alebrije.'"
Lima Grill is now serving authentic Peruvian cuisine in the Spring area as of Sept. 10, according to a business Facebook post. The eatery offers dishes from ceviches to Peruvian classics such as grilled dishes and rotisserie chicken, per its website.
After an extended soft opening, Otium officially made its presence known in the Upper Kirby area with a grand opening event Aug. 28, according to its social media.
The upscale cocktail lounge’s Latin mantra, ‘Otium cum Dignitate,’ translates to ‘Leisure with Dignity’ and is inspired by 56 B.C. philosophical writings of ancient Rome.
Love Croissants, a bakery known for its flaky and buttery croissants, will open a location in the Heights. It currently has a shared space with the restaurant Weights + Measures in Midtown.
The eatery opened in 2022 and started as a stand at a local farmer’s market, according to the shop's website. The Heights location will be its permanent flagship store and will also have a drive-thru window.

Dumont Creamery and Cafe opened its first Greater Houston location in Riverstone, owners confirmed.
The cafe offers coffee—with signature drinks including a date cardamom latte and a pistachio white mocha—and slushies, such as the mangonada and strawberry slushie. The cafe also has milk teas with tapioca.
Dumont also offers ice cream and freshly baked pastries from local bakeries.
