Check out these 2 Lone Star College project updates in Cy-Fair, Kingwood

Two renovation projects at Lone Star College System campuses are scheduled to kick off in 2027 after the college system’s board of trustees voted to push the projects to the next stage on Oct. 1.

Upcoming projects

1. Empowerment Center relocation, remodel

Project: LSC-Cy-Fair’s Empowerment Center—a food and clothing pantry for students in need—will be moved from separate locations in the CASA building to the Technology Center, according to Oct. 1 board meeting documents.

LSC-Cy-Fair is seeing a growing need for services provided by the Empowerment Center, and the move will allow students to be better served, said campus President Valerie Jones via an Oct. 1 email. The Empowerment Center will remain open during the renovation and relocation process, she said.

Update: On Oct. 1, LSCS’s board of trustees voted to allow negotiations to kick off with SpawGlass Construction Corporation for the remodel of the Empowerment Center’s new space.
