A new Kroger grocery store, movie theater and up to a dozen retail spaces and restaurants will be featured in the future Stableside at Falcon Landing development, located on Falcon Landing Boulevard west of the Grand Parkway.
Austin Alvis, an associate with NewQuest Properties, said the development company is working with multiple businesses as construction on the site continues.
“[The] Kroger is under construction and expected to open in December,” Alvis said. We’re in talks with two major theaters and two large fitness concepts for Phase 2 of the development.”
The development—totaling 240,000 square feet on more than 34 acres—is located on the northwest corner of Gaston Road and Falcon Landing Boulevard, directly across the street from Tompkins High School.
The Kroger is planned for 102,000 square feet with the potential to expand another 20,000 square feet. The movie theater is expected to be about 39,000 square feet and the entire area will feature an estimated 17,000-square-foot park-like green space. There will also be about 2,000 parking spaces.
Alvis said NewQuest Properties is also working with a large national bank and MedSpring Urgent Care as possible tenants as well as several food options for the center’s new dining concept.
“We’re working on a handful of restaurants for the public green space. It’ll be large and it will incorporate elements like a kid’s play space and shaded areas,” Alvis said. “There will be pizza, Mexican, sushi and a cafe or grill type of eatery.”
Alvis said Phase 1 of the project will include the Kroger, an optometrist, a dentist and six to seven other businesses, all expected to open by December. Phase 2 of the project—with the theater, fitness center and other businesses—is expected to open in summer 2017.
