Katy City Council approved issuing $6.62 million in bond money for a number of water and drainage projects, according to city documents.

The gist

The bonds, which were approved at the Nov. 13 City Council meeting, will go toward seven projects, according to city documents. Those projects are:
  • Katy Court off-site water line and force main
  • Northeast detention pond
  • Southeast detention pond
  • Katy Court detention
  • Water and wastewater capital recovery fees
  • Joint drainage channel payment to Harris County
  • Water, wastewater and drainage facilities
The bonds were approved with no comment from council members.

How we got here

The bonds are the fifth installment of a $40.575 million bond package that was approved by voters in 2009, according to city documents.


After the latest approval Nov. 13, there is $13.545 million left in bonds, which the Katy West Municipal Utility District has the right to use at a later date, documents show.
