Sambrooks Management Company closed the doors at Sam’s Fried Chicken and Donuts, 601 Heights Blvd., Houston, on March 9. In a statement, owner Michael Sambrooks said the closure will allow the company to focus on its "Big Four" concepts—The Pit Room BBQ, The Patio at the Pit Room, 1741 Sea and Bar and the Tex-Mex restaurant Candente. The group also closed Pi Pizza in the Heights on Feb. 21. “Sam’s Fried Chicken and Donuts was a fun concept with tasty and Instagram worthy fare," Sambrooks said.
