A brand new dining experience inspired by cowboy tradition is opening this fall in the Heights, according to an April 1 news release.

What we know

Long Weekend is the brain child of husband-and-wife duo Paige and Andrew Alvis, inspired by the Andrew's upbringing on weekends at the family ranch filled with cattle branding, campfire cooking, horseback riding and country music. Long Weekend will be located near the T.C. Jester Hike and Bike Trails, and close to the 19th and 20th Street bar scene.

The restaurant will offer 8,000-square-feet of indoor space for its main dining area. Guests can also enjoy the 20,000-square-feet of open-air amenities, including a nature-inspired playground, TVs for sports viewing and a stage for live music, per the release.

What's on the menu

Long Weekend will feature wood-fired cuisine with a Western and cowboy influence. The restaurant will serve steaks, fresh fish and unique game meats such as quail and elk. Outside of meat are health-conscious choices such as salads, seasonal soups and grilled garden vegetables.

Long Weekend will also house an early morning cafe serving tacos, house-baked pastries and locally roasted coffee.
