This month, the Greater Houston area will mark the anniversaries of its first confirmed COVID-19 cases as well as the first deaths attributed to the pandemic.

As of March 3, 5,110 people in Harris County have died because of the disease, and many families have been unable to host full memorials to say goodbye because of social distancing precautions.

As the Houston area approaches this one-year milestone, Community Impact Newspaper is reaching out to gather stories from the neighborhoods we cover to help recognize the toll of the pandemic and memorialize the friends, family members and other loved ones who may have been taken in the past year.

Use the form below to share your memorial, which may be included in a future print edition. Photos can also be emailed to [email protected].
