Marie LeonardWith summer more than half over, families across The Woodlands area are most likely starting to get their students ready for a new school year. Some Conroe ISD students will start off the new academic year in a new school on the east side of I-45 when Bradley Elementary School opens in Spring to serve more than 700 students.

School district officials have been planning ahead to manage the growth expected along the Rayford Road and Grand Parkway corridor as new homes develop. A bond election approved by voters in November 2015 helped fund a new high school, intermediate school and two elementary schools in the former Oak Ridge North feeder zone.

Located off the Rayford Road corridor, Bradley Elementary School is the first of three new schools to open in the next 13 months in the area. An intermediate school and Grand Oaks High School will also open in the area by August 2018. In addition, a new K-6 campus is projected to open for the 2019-20 school year, but a location has not been announced.
