While The Red Brick Tavern continues to be recognized for its award-winning music and food, owner Debbie Glenn said the past few months have been bittersweet following the death of the restaurant’s co-founder, John Ross Martin, in December.

“[Martin’s] passing just gives us an ultra focus to just take The Red Brick Tavern to the next level in his memory,” Glenn said.

The Red Brick Tavern will revive its “Sit Down, Shut Up and Listen,” concert series on Jan. 24. Glenn said the showcase—typically held on Sunday afternoons—underlines the pub’s commitment to highlighting talented songwriters and up and coming talent.

“You can go just about anywhere and see a cover band,” Glenn said. “It takes a really special venue to see a songwriter and hear the story behind the song.”

In March, Glenn said customers can anticipate having a new menu featuring some unique dishes and classic favorites. She said the team is also developing an extended catering menu that can service up to 200 people.

“We’re adding some really fun, creative new ideas,” Glenn said.
