Editor's note: Vi Pham confirmed March 25 she will be withdrawing from the Jersey Village City Council position 4 race. City officials said Pham's name will still be on the ballot.

One of three Jersey Village City Council seats will be contested in the upcoming May election, according to a Feb. 19 email from Jersey Village city officials.

On the ballot

The candidates to serve in council member places 1, 4 and 5—currently held by Drew Wasson, James Singleton and Jennifer McCrea, respectively—will be chosen by voters during the May 4 election. Singleton chose not to file for re-election, while McCrea and Wasson will be running unopposed, according to a Feb. 19 email from Jersey Village city officials.

According to the email, the candidates running for Singleton’s spot are:
  • James Fields
  • Vi Pham
  • Connie Rossi
City Council member terms last two years, according to Jersey Village’s city website.


Did you know?

Singleton was re-elected to his position in 2022, while Wasson and McCrea ran unopposed in that election, as previously reported by Community Impact. McCrea has served since 2022, Singleton has served since 2018, and Wasson was appointed in 2019.

Fields ran against Jersey Village’s current mayor, Bobby Warren, in the May 2023 election and against Singleton in the May 2022 election, as previously reported by Community Impact.

Filing for the May 4 election opened Jan. 17. The deadline to file to be on the May 4 ballot was 5 p.m. ​Feb. 16.
