Why are you running for this position?

We desperately need new leadership that serves the working class and prioritizes affordability. I refuse to let the federal level distract us from the needs of our local communities. As state representative, it would be my honor to give back to the community that I grew up in.

What would your top priorities be if elected?

Fight for the working class- Establish the right to unionize and collectively bargain for good wages and benefits. Healthcare- Pass Representative Goodwin’s “Texas Cares” legislation to insure and provide peace of mind to 5 million uninsured Texans. Lower property taxes- Provide relief to Texans being priced out of their homes.

What are the biggest challenges facing the district?

Housing Affordability- I have seen corporate buyouts of single-family homes in my own neighborhood, and it’s making it impossible to achieve the American Dream. I support banning corporate ownership of housing, increasing affordable housing construction, and increasing the Homestead exemption. Homes are for the benefit of people, not corporations.

What are your priorities for the future of Texas education?

I support repealing the voucher law, as it has siphoned billions of our tax dollars from already underfunded public schools. Kids in my district lost bus service for a year, which I used myself not more than ten years ago. The next generation deserves the same opportunities I had.

How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process?

I am committed to honest conversations, as I have personally knocked more doors than any other candidate in Harris County. At my day job, I help kids with autism find their voice. Call or send me an email. Give me your voice, and I will amplify it. We deserve better.
