Made with layers of vanilla ice cream, finely shaved ice and tropic cream and topped with sprinkles, the Birthday Cake Bahama Rama Mama is one of Bahama Bucks’ most popular creations. The shaved ice is prepared in a way that is authentic to how the treat is made in Hawaii, said Kevin Meier, who co-owns the Telge Road location with his wife Tracy. He also compared it to authentic New Orleans sno-balls.

“The quality of the ice is really fine,” he said. “It’s not like a snow cone, where the flavor just runs through it. Each flavor is distinct.”

The shaved ice comes in more than 70 different flavors with a variety of sugar-free options. New flavors added this year include Paradise and Princess, and a sour patch flavor will be introduced in August, Meier said. The Bahama Bucks menu also includes  frozen coffees, island smoothies,     specialty sodas and lemonades.
