Whataburger officials celebrate early December opening of new Humble location


Whataburger officials celebrated a Dec. 1 opening of their new location at 15940 Woodland Hills Drive, Humble.

The eatery features a double drive-thru, dining room and digital menu boards, according to a Nov. 28 news release. Additionally, the restaurant includes a custom interior mural featuring Whataburger iconography and “Humble” displayed across the wall.

Development surges in Valley Ranch


A decade since breaking ground in New Caney, Valley Ranch has seen an ongoing wave of new development with more entertainment, dining and shopping options to come, officials with developer The Signorelli Co. said.

This year, some major projects have opened or kicked off in the mixed-use development’s Entertainment District. Hope Media Group’s global headquarters opened June 5, and the East Montgomery County Improvement District’s convention center broke ground in March.

The convention center alone is slated to bring $1.73 billion in area business spending and more than 500 jobs over the next 30 years.

Manvel moves forward with major commercial development at Manvel Crossing

Manvel City Council approved the final ordinances for a planned unit development annexation and 380 agreement for nearly 50 acres of development at Manvel Crossing, which is located along Hwy. 6, west of Kirby Drive and east of Manvel Town Center.

The developer will be BCS Capital Group, a Houston-based commercial real estate agency.

Airbnb donates $1M to Houston to create a 14-mile transit loop to connect key FIFA World Cup 26 venues

In a Dec. 2 news conference, officials with Airbnb announced that Houston will receive a $1 million investment that will go toward supporting major community initiatives, expanding green infrastructure and increasing youth access to soccer.

Airbnb was selected in June to serve as an official partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Since the announcement, the vacation rental company has been investing millions of dollars into host cities around the United States for sustainable projects and programs that are intended to last well beyond the tournament in 2026.
