RECENT UPDATES


1. FM 1097 widening


The Texas Department of Transportation’s expansion of FM 1097 between I-45 and Hwy. 75, which includes a continuous left-turn lane, is completed. However, the project is slated to receive additional work following drainage revisions.

2. FM 3083 expansion


The project to widen FM 3083 from two to four lanes from just east of Hwy. 75 to west of FM 1484 has reached 51 percent of completion. The project includes a bridge over the Union Pacific Corp. railroad tracks. The project addresses traffic congestion along FM 3083, which is frequently used by workers and trucks at Conroe Park North.

3. Hwy. 105 median construction


A project to add a raised median, sidewalks and public transit stops along Hwy. 105 between I-45 and Hwy. 75 has resumed construction and reached 63 percent completion. The project had been paused to redesign electrical infrastructure.

4. M.P. Clark Road construction


The city of Conroe has finished construction of M.P. Clark Road, a new roadway, between League Line Road and FM 830. The city opened the roadway to the public March 15 following a grand opening ceremony.

Timeline: April 14, 2017-March 15
Cost: $6.5 million

5. Wilson Road expansion


The city of Conroe broke ground March 14 on a project to expand Wilson Road from two to four lanes. The project includes curb and gutter improvements, replacement of wire traffic signals with mast arm traffic signals, and installation of new sidewalks and street lights. The project is being managed by Triple B Services.

ONGOING PROJECTS


6.The city of Conroe and Montgomery County are partnering to build a connector road between the I-45 access road and FM 2854. The project is in the design stage. Estimated timeline: TBA

7. Conroe rejected two bids from bus operators for the park and ride on FM 2854. The city is discussing options with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County for service. Estimated timeline: Early 2018

8. This spring, Conroe expects to start a project to expand Longmire Road from two to four lanes between League Line Road and FM 3083. The project will be done in two phases. Estimated timeline: Spring 2018-TBA

9. The city of Conroe has started design of a $2.4 million extension of Camelot Road from Hwy. 105 to Sgt. Ed Holcomb Road. Estimated timeline: TBA
