1. I-45 HOV lanes
The northbound I-45 high occupancy vehicle lane extension opened for public use on Oct. 31. The project added one HOV lane in each direction along I-45 from South Loop 336 in Conroe to FM 1960 in north Harris County. Commuters with at least one passenger are able to use the lanes for free.

2. FM 1097 widening
TxDOT broke ground in July on an FM 1097 expansion project between I-45 and Hwy. 75 in Willis. The project will expand the roadway from two to four lanes and add a continuous left-turn lane. The project also includes the installation of sidewalks along the roadway for pedestrians. Construction has reached 30 percent completion.

3. FM 1488 overpass
Work on a project to widen FM 1488 from two to four lanes from FM 149 to just past Community Road is ongoing. The project also includes construction of a railroad overpass on FM 1488 near the FM 149 intersection over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks, making it possible for commuters to cross the railroad tracks without interruption. Construction on the project has reached 50 percent completion.

4. FM 3083 railroad overpass
Work on the expansion of FM 3083 continues with construction of a railroad overpass along the roadway. FM 3083 has already been expanded from I-45 to the starting location of the overpass bridge, and the project will continue to widen the road from the start of the bridge to Stewarts Creek. The project has reached 22 percent completion and is expected to take about two years to finish.

5. Hwy. 105 beautification project
The city of Conroe started construction on a Hwy. 105 improvement project Oct. 10. The project will add a raised median throughout the roadway from I-45 to Frazier Street.
