What’s special about it?
About 8,000 attendees are expected to fill the Montgomery ISD Football Stadium—located at 22628 Hwy. 105 W., Montgomery—for the game, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
“The ‘Mo-Town Showdown’ football game between MHS and LCHS is always an exciting event that is a great point of pride for this community,” MISD Director of Athletics Clint Heard said in a Sept. 27 email. “This is the case not only in football but in every sport in MISD.”
Tickets are available online, and game-goers are encouraged to buy their tickets early, since this game is expected to be popular, according to MISD officials.
“This is also a unique matchup due to the familiarity that the student-athletes have with one another and the immense pride each of the teams has for their school,” Heard said. “Several of the student-athletes at Montgomery and Lake Creek have known each other since kindergarten.”
What you need to know
Before purchasing a ticket to the game, keep in mind that:
- Tickets can only be purchased online, under MISD’s new ticketing policy.
- Tickets are side-specific—for the home team or visitor team—and attendees can’t access both sides of the stadium during the game, according to a Sept. 25 social media post from MISD.
- Season ticket holders for LCHS will still need to buy a general admission ticket because the Sept. 29 game is considered “away” for that team, according to MISD officials.
Tickets for LCHS—the visiting team—can be purchased here.
On game day, remember that:
- Attendees supporting MHS need to park, enter and sit on the home side of the stadium, which can be accessed from Hwy. 105.
- Attendees supporting LCHS need to park, enter and sit on the visitor side of the stadium, which can be accessed from Lone Star Parkway.
- There is no access between the stadium’s two parking lots, according to MISD officials.
