Home Depot has broken ground on its Montgomery location, which will be located near Buffalo Springs Drive just west of Kroger, Community Impact previously reported.
“We’re very pleased Home Depot Inc. chose the city of Montgomery and look forward to having them as a business,” Montgomery City Administrator Gary Palmer said in a Dec. 12 email.
What else?
During an Oct. 2 special meeting, Montgomery City Council approved a Chapter 380 agreement with the retailer that stipulates Home Depot will:
- Contribute $750,000 toward improvements for the Buffalo Springs Drive and Hwy. 105 intersection
- Pay the remaining construction costs of $674,000 plus 15% for contingencies
In return, the city of Montgomery will:
- Reimburse Home Depot for the $674,000 over a period of five or more years using 50% of the total sales tax collected by the city at the retailer’s new store

Home Depot is slated to bring a store to the city by October 2024, according to prior reporting.
The Buffalo Springs Drive and Hwy. 105 intersection improvements—which include a traffic signal and roadway reconstruction—is anticipated to be completed before Home Depot opens, Palmer said.
