Following Gov. Greg Abbott's plan to reopen Texas' economy in stages, Montgomery County took swift local action.
County Judge Mark Keough announced in a Facebook video April 17 that he has terminated the county's curfew and its "Stay at Home, Stop the Spread" order.
"This will ensure that no local orders stand in the way of reopening the economy as we wait the governor’s further instructions," he said. "This will also give our local businesses to prepare for the reopening that will soon be announced by the governor."
Keough's order, which can be viewed here, advises vulnerable individuals to continue staying home; asks individuals to continue practicing good hygiene; and urges businesses to implement appropriate policies and best practices.
