In a media preview event on Nov. 1 before the store's official opening, H-E-B officials showcased the new location in Willis. The 112,000-square-foot store includes eight self-checkout lanes, is one of three locations to provide fragrances and offers flu clinics.

The new location, located at 12350 I-45 N., Willis, opened Nov. 2 to shoppers. The store offers traditional goods, such as meat, seafood and sushi, as well as a full-service fuel station, a floral department and H-E-B curbside pickup, according to a news release.

During opening remarks Nov. 1, two checks totaling $5,000 were gifted to the TLC Food Pantry and Willis ISD Education Foundation. The WISD culinary program was gifted a $2,500 gift card; The Wildcat Resource Center was gifted hygiene products from Unilever plus a $2,500 gift card; and the Roark Early Education center that opened Aug. 10—according to previous reporting—was gifted H-E-B grocery store play sets.

"I am so proud to be here, so glad to be here; I love this area," said Terry Williams, regional vice president for H-E-B Houston Northeast. "I just can't wait to get it on tomorrow and show everyone in the state of Texas who we are, the Willis Wildcats."
