From Dec. 10-21, League City residents can take an online survey about a potential $249 million bond election the city could face as early as May.

The election could also ask voters to approve a 0.25 percent sales tax rate increase. League City's current sales tax rate is 8 percent, 1.75 percent of which goes to the city. Raising it to 2 percent would be the maximum allowed under state law.

The survey asks if residents would support a $121 million bond for drainage projects; an $88.5 million bond for transportation projects; a $24.5 million bond to build a second library; and bonds worth about $20.9 million to build a new fire station, municipal court building and indoor gun range.
