Since the first 20 tenants moved into French Quarter Salons in February, the salon has grown to 42 tenants providing a wide array of services.
"I'm a developer," said owner Joe Polumbo Jr., who owns the salons with his father. "I have and manage properties. Now I'm in the salon business. It's been an interesting journey and an educational experience."
Polumbo said more tenants have recently signed as the two-story salon nears its maximum of 53 tenant spaces. Independent businesses leasing within the property include hair stylists, makeup artists, nail technicians, a personal trainer, and clothing and home accessories boutiques.
"[Business has] been good for them," he said. "They were well established for the most part, but we have good walk-in traffic too, so some of the ladies who aren't well established are getting that."
The salons are located within the French Quarter Business Park in Spring, which also saw two professional buildings open in February. Houston Methodist Primary Care also broke ground on a primary care clinic in December, which could open in April or May with 19 exam rooms, Polumbo said.
With two more professional buildings on site, Polumbo said he hopes to attract more medical services within the business park.
"The market out here is on fire," he said.
