Midtown’s new technology hub, The Ion, has formed a programming partnership with Capital Factory, a Texas-based innovation and mentorship provider.

As The Ion’s partner, Capital Factory will offer programming, events and resources to help grow, educate and support the startups and entrepreneurs utilizing The Ion’s offerings in the Greater Houston area, according to an Oct. 25 news release.

The Ion will serve as the Houston headquarters for Capital Factory and will allow the company to expand networking opportunities, events and on-site mentoring at The Ion—connecting Houston entrepreneurs to investors, customers and talent in other Texas cities, such as Austin, Dallas and San Antonio, according to the news release.

“Capital Factory’s presence at The Ion will further expand the opportunities for startups and innovators in the Houston region while strengthening an important pillar of the Texas Startup Manifesto,” Capital Factory founder and CEO Joshua Baer said in the news release. “Our first public event at The Ion will be Open Coffee on Nov. 16, followed by Open Coworking all day.”

The goal of the newly formed partnership is to push Houston into a leading position by creating connections between innovators, mentors, investors and markets, according to the release.

“We are thrilled to have Capital Factory as a programming partner at The Ion,” The Ion Executive Director Jan E. Odegard said in the news release. “The Ion seeks to work with key partners and established brands to help build a rich and inclusive set of startup services that can support all innovators and startups wherever they are in their entrepreneurial journey. Capital Factory brings a proven track record for providing entrepreneurs with services and investments that brings great value not only to The Ion ecosystem, but also to the entire Houston innovation ecosystem."
