According to the latest update from CenterPoint's website, about 270,000 CenterPoint customers remain without power from Hurricane Beryl as of 8:34 p.m July 14. More than 2.2 million lost power following the Category 1 hurricane, which hit the Greater Houston area the morning of July 8.
In a news release issued at 12:30 p.m. July 14, CenterPoint officials said they expect to have restored power to 85% of all affected customers by the end of the weekend and to 90% of affected customers by the end of day Monday, July 15.
CenterPoint officials state in the release that the company has provided restoration dates to "substantially all customers" and is working to restore their power "sooner than expected, wherever possible."

“Our crews are doing extraordinary work in neighborhoods across Greater Houston and have continued to accelerate restoration despite challenging conditions as thunderstorms rolled through Houston late yesterday," Lynnae Wilson, senior vice president, electric business, for CenterPoint, said in the release. “Looking ahead, we know those customers who are not yet restored are counting on us, and we are committed to working until we get their lights back on."
What else?
Meanwhile, Entergy Texas has restored power to more than 92% of customers affected by Beryl, according to a July 14 news release.
According to the release, about 234,500 of the 252,460 Entergy customers impacted by the storm had their power restored by 6 p.m. July 14. Estimated restoration times are:
- 10 p.m. July 14 for The Woodlands network, including Oak Ridge North, Shenandoah, Woodloch and surrounding areas
- 5 p.m. July 15 the Conroe network, including Montgomery, Panorama Village, Willis and surrounding areas
- 5 p.m. July 15 for the New Caney network, including Huffman, Porter, Roman Forest, Woodbranch and surrounding areas
- 5 p.m. July 15 for for the Cleveland network, including Shepherd, Patton Village, Plum Grove, Splendora and surrounding areas
