Among the requests are a mental health program to support police officers who have experienced trauma in performing their duties.

On Jan. 28, League City City Council will consider several motions to apply for funding from both state and local entities to fund resources for both the police department and the fire department, which is all-volunteer, including:
- $77,000 from the state for body-worn cameras
- $15,000 from the state to fund training and equipment for police to teach wellness and resilience techniques for officers dealing with trauma.
- $279,000 from the state to provide service and assistance to victims experiencing trauma as a result of a crime
- $149,000 from the state to fund the upkeep of the department’s digital evidence lab
- $79,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to buy a second UTV ambulance for responding calls at special events, like July 4 celebrations
- $1 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to replace the remaining fire department nonhandheld radios and in-vehicle radios
City Council will also consider renaming two new roadways, one connecting Ervin Street and Muldoon Parkway and the other connecting the Boysfil Tract and Muldoon Parkway to Longfellow Drive and Georgetown Parkway.
