League City will host its first budget meeting for fiscal year 2024-25 and vote on a few items for purchase on July 23.

The gist

League City released its proposed budget on July 15. City officials are scheduled to talk about it in a workshop prior to City Council’s regular July 23 meeting.

It’s the first public workshop to discuss the new budget, with three more to follow, according to the city's website. The other three are:
  • July 30 at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center, 400 W. Walker St., League City
  • Aug. 6 at City Council Chambers, which will also be the first public hearing for the budget, 200 W. Walker St., League City
  • Aug. 13 at City Council Chambers
The city’s fiscal year begins Oct. 1, according to the city’s website.

City Council is expected to vote on a few items, such as a roughly $2.1 million change order and amendment to an asphalt street rehabilitation project, according to city documents.

City Council will also consider continuing the mayor’s declaration of a local state of disaster following Hurricane Beryl, which made landfall on July 8.
