Opening reception for Do Ho Suh: In Process
This artist installation will be on display at Rice University’s Moody Center for the Arts from Sept. 6-Dec. 21. The exhibit of sculptures, drawings and artwork explores Do Ho Suh’s methodologies and practice through studio materials, collaborative projects and finished works.
Local nonprofit Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels commemorates 50 years of service with this 1970s-themed gala at Houston Marriott Sugar Land. Guests are encouraged to wear ’70s-themed attire while listening to music by music group Skyrocket and enjoying dinner and a silent auction. Sponsorships are available.

In a Pickle Festival
This fifth annual event will feature over 100 vendors with pickle-themed items, free pickle samples from 30 food vendors, pickle-themed contests, live music and a pet parade.
Home Run Dugout will collaborate with 8th Wonder Brewery to host this music festival, featuring acts such as Blossom Aloe and Rozy. Patrons can design a jersey, take a picture in the baseball card photobooth, participate in a silent auction and hear live music at this event.
The Woodlands Township is holding a Community Garden Day focused on planting native species and learning about water-saving techniques. The event will be located at Alspaugh’s Ace Hardware.
Riders can choose to do a 5-mile or 15-mile self-paced bike ride through the Heights. Participants will receive a route with riddles and clues to solve. Winners will be announced at an after party at Marmion Park.
During the Jaipur Literature Festival Houston, the Rothko Chapel will host Indian classical duet Pandit Shubhendra Rao and Maestro Saskia Rao. Musicians will be accompanied by youth poets from Faye School.
