Registration for the annual kayak and canoe race on Clear Creek in League City will open the first week of August, according to a July 25 news flash from the city.

What you need to know

On Sept. 7, paddlers will begin the 4.5-mile race at the kayak launch at Lynn Gripon Countryside Park, 100 Alderwood St., League City, according to the news flash.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., the race starts at 9 a.m., and the awards are given at 10:30 a.m., according to the city’s website.

The cost is $15 per participant, and those interested in participating can preregister through League City’s website once the signup link goes live during the first week of August.

In 2022, the fastest race time was 43 minutes and 35 seconds, according to city documents.
