Why are you running for this position?

I want to strengthen our community by bringing residents together and restoring trust in city leadership. I also plan to leverage 19 years of engineering skills to strengthen our community for the next 50 years. Our city is investing serious funds into infrastructure improvements. I will use my technical skills to worry about things that most people don’t think about until they are impacted, such as the integrity of water mains and street flooding. I care deeply for our community and will listen and understand what residents want to see addressed by their government.

What is the most important issue facing Nassau Bay, and how would you address it?

Nassau Bay has made some great progress toward initiating infrastructure improvements, and the success of these projects will secure the long-term stability, property values and appeal of our community. We need to protect ourselves against stormwater issues and needed infrastructure updates. As a licensed engineer with training in business and finance, I want to ensure that city projects run smoothly in times of supply chain turmoil, change management is handled appropriately, and that we are utilizing funds in the best way possible to have the most success in these critical endeavors.

What makes you the best candidate for this position?

I have lived in Nassau Bay for over 15 years and understand our community’s unique heritage. I have helped my neighbors through major storms and am committed to strengthening our community with involvement. With three young children, I plan to live here for a long time and am excited to be a part of the next generation of leadership in Nassau Bay. I plan to use my engineering/finance/business talents to strengthen our infrastructure and mitigate flooding while serving residents so Nassau Bay continues to be the best place to live, work, worship and raise a family.

Why are you running for this position?

Running for office to provide residents greater visibility into the City Council activities by livestreaming all City Council meetings and assuring that important decisions are made in public with open discussions. Strive to hold town hall-type meetings with open-style forum to answer all residents’ questions on any subject. Transparency is key to all communications. City Hall should be the citizens hall open to all. Putting Nassau Bay first.

What is the most important issue facing Nassau Bay, and how would you address it?

Our aging infrastructure is currently being upgraded, and this will require long-term planning and fiscal responsibility. We will be replacing and upsizing approximately 22,000 feet of water line, including new water valves and fire hydrants throughout the city. Keeping Nassau Bay families safe, by reinvesting in our police, fire and EMS responders. Investing in first-class equipment will keep Nassau Bay residents safe and protected while not raising taxes.

What makes you the best candidate for this position?

I currently serve on the city of Nassau Bay’s Parks Committee and Tourism Committee. The only candidate running for Position 2 with any "committee" volunteer experience. I am a retired business owner with extensive experience in communications, profit and loss, and long-term planning. In the past year, I have attended every City Council meeting and all meetings of the Parks, Tourism Committees, perfect attendance, dedicated to the residents of Nassau Bay.
