Houston Community College and San Jacinto College announced closures for July 10 as well.

University of Houston officials announced all UH schools will also be closed on July 10, including:
  • University of Houston - Main Campus
  • University of Houston - Katy
  • University of Houston - Sugarland

As the Greater Houston area continues its recovery efforts from Hurricane Beryl’s passage through the region on July 8, several schools and colleges announced closures through at least July 10.

What you need to know

Due to power outages and recovery efforts from Hurricane Beryl, many Greater Houston-area school districts have announced the extended closure of campuses, offices and facilities. This may include the cancellation of summer school classes, summer campus and staff training, according to district websites and social media pages.

According to CenterPoint’s outage tracker, approximately 1.6 million people in Houston remained without power as of 4:27 p.m. July 9.
