With all Galveston County polling places reporting, Texas House of Representatives District 24 incumbent Greg Bonnen has won his re-election bid.

Bonnen won 45,475 votes, or 68.75% of votes. Democratic challenger Michael Creedon won 29.21%, or 19,321 votes, and Libertarian candidate Ryan McCamy won 1,345 votes, or 2.03%.

Results are unofficial until canvassed.

Update 11:05 p.m. Nov. 8:


With 48 of 53 Galveston County polling places reporting, Texas House of Representatives District 24 incumbent Greg Bonnen has likely won his re-election bid.

Bonnen has 42,657 votes, or 69% of the total votes. Democrat Michael Creedon has 17,825 votes, or 28.9%, and Libertarian Ryan McCamy has 1,199 votes, or 1.9%.

In a previous Community Impact story, Bonnen said his priorities if re-elected would be to produce a “fiscally responsible” budget to address the border crisis, property tax relief, higher education affordability and public education funding. He also said he wants to invest in flood and transportation infrastructure.

With early votes in, Texas House of Representatives District 24 incumbent Greg Bonnen has a strong lead on challengers.

Bonnen, a Republican, has 33,736 votes, or 69% of the total votes. Democrat Michael Creedon has 14,401 votes, or 29.4% of votes, and Libertarian Ryan McCamy has 800 votes, or 1.6% of votes.
