A party and event center founded in Mexico, Party Street is set to open in Richardson.

Richardson City Council approved a special permit for the company to operate a nearly 2,800-square-foot special event center during the July 8 meeting. The proposed location was formerly occupied by a jiujitsu gym.

The overview

Party Street plans to operate in a shopping center located near the intersection of East Campbell Road and North Plano Road, according to city documents. The event center mainly caters to family events, such as baby showers and children’s birthday parties, with two-, three- and four-hour time slots.

Provisions included in the special permit will allow up to 49 guests in the venue, which will have operating hours exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, per city documents.

Erick Vera, one of the co-owners of Party Street, said the company works with vendors to provide decorations as well as employees who assist with setup and cleanup of the event space.

What’s else?

Based on regulations in the city’s comprehensive zoning ordinance, a building permit must be obtained by the owners within 180 days or the special permit will expire. City staff may approve an extension up to one year for the special permit.

Party Street has other North Texas locations, including in Bedford, Irving and Lewisville. The owners did not provide a timeline for when they plan to open the Richardson location.
